VEGAMOUR - Ready, Set, Gro Kit

VEGAMOUR - Ready, Set, Gro Kit

If you know me you know I'm obsessed with hair & scalp care. Nothing is better than a product that gives you good hair day after good hair day! I was a bit worried after all the IVF drugs & hormonal changes that my hair would take a hit, but back in March I started using Vegamour Gro Kit and my hair and scalp have actually improved over the last few months. It's grown like crazy and the little baby hairs on top of my head have to be tamed. I think a lot of people only think about taking care of their hair, but just like your face your scalp needs love too. I apply the Vegamour Hair Gro Serum to the crown of my head and above each temple where it's always a bit thinner, after shampooing and conditioning with their revitalizing set. I've also been using their detoxifying serum on the same areas that I apply the serum. The detoxifying serum goes on BEFORE washing and helps remove buildup which is important for me because I use lots of styling products and go 4-6 days between washing.

For this post I went back to look at my hair over the last few months and I'm definitely happy with this product. With all the fertility treatments and endometriosis, I'm always very concerned about clean ingredients and Vegamour uses plant based phytoactives instead of silicone and sulfates like many other beauty companies.

I could not give a more glowing product review! Truly love this stuff. Oh, and I have to mention the SMELL. It smells amazing, my niece smelled it and now she is planning to get the set soon. Go to their website and look at the BEFORE & AFTER reviews. It's really amazing how much new hair growth others have had with it.

Deck the Halls

Deck the Halls

We got most of our Christmas decor up this past week! The way it lights up Magnolia's world is my very favorite part of this season. All I can think about now is scheduling a carriage ride on the Country Club Plaza, Christmas in the Park, Santa's Bake Shop, The Nutcracker (Magnolia will be a Tick Tock mouse), our annual gingerbread house making party, hot chocolate with all the whipped cream, watching The Elf over and over again, cozy nights be the fire, and truly my list goes on and on. I know the season will fly by so fast and we might not get to do it all, but I'm hoping to squeeze in all the merriest fun while also saving time for quiet moments at home by the twinkling tree & warm fireplace. Last year we bought a clearance tree from Home Depot that we put in our hearth room this year, and we moved our old tree up to the master bedroom. I had no idea how cozy it would feel to fall asleep by the sparkle of the tree, and then to wake up and have coffee in bed by the tree the next morning is just magic. We had our first snow flurries this afternoon! Ryan, Magnolia and I were talking about how much we love to play in the snow. I told them both I am buying a snow suit this year! They both have warm snowsuits and can play for hours while I'm freezing my butt off in leggings. On my Christmas wish list is something super warm so I can play in the snow all day long too!!!

Home for the Holidays: Come Take a Tour With Us

Home for the Holidays: Come Take a Tour With Us

Deck the Halls...that's what we've been doing since Halloween came down!!! As soon as the first lights started twinkling it was time to start watching Christmas movies on repeat, Alexa has been playing all the jolliest songs throughout our home, hot chocolate is a daily beverage for Maggie Mermaid, & lounge clothes + fuzzy blankets + a cozy fire are a daily habit! I cannot believe Christmas morning is only 11 days away. I truly need a pause bottom for this month.

Cozy Season Favorites

Cozy Season Favorites

Cozy season is here & we are LOVING it!!! Every single morning I come down stairs & crack all the windows, flip on the gas fireplace & light our Oatmeal Cookie candle before starting the coffee. The fresh crisp air is magical. Sunday morning Mags walked out onto our deck (in her underwear) the temp was about 53 degrees & she walked back in, took a deep breath in with a long happy sigh to say "it feels sooooo good out there!" We are all so excited for fall fun & Halloween. Our entire month of October is full of parties & pumpkin patch trips & family photos. We are living on our front porch & back patio. Over the weekend we had the outdoor fireplace crackling as we listened to old country tunes under the string lights. The pumpkins are already at the grocery stores & Mags & I had to bring some of the cutest Jack Be Littles home with us to sprinkle around the house. Did you know the little white ones are called Baby Boo & the bigger ones are called Cotton Candy?!?! I learned that the other day & thought it was just the sweetest.

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR // FIVE // SIX // SEVEN

Sharing some of my favorite cozy season finds with you today. The cozy cardigan is currently on sale & only $20! I have a coffee mug obsession & this five dollar BOO one is soooo perfect for Halloween season. The Oatmeal Cookie candle is my all time favorite EVER, we always have them burning around the house. If I had to burn only one candle forever, that would be it. Cozy season pumpkin soup bowl that can be used for just about anything. Furry slippers + chunky sweater blanket + all the festive wreaths!!!

A friend sent me this Asian Chicken Noodle soup recipe & I made it over the weekend. Let me just say --- you have to try it. It was so simple & soul warming! Mags even loved it with the curry, cayenne pepper & coconut milk. Next weekend we are making my annual pumpkin spice cookies with cream cheese frosting. Trips to the pumpkin patch & at least a few DIYs planned along with decorating our house with huge spooky spiders is on our calendar for the weeks ahead. Soaking it all up and hope you do too.

Our New Exterior Paint: White House & Bubblegum Pink Doors

Our New Exterior Paint: White House & Bubblegum Pink Doors

We always knew our next house would be white. We had planned to build new before we found this one on an open house one rainy late summer Sunday in 2019. The red paint was the exact same color as my grandparent's house growing up. I even had a dream about my grandpa & this home during the time between our offer being accepted & closing. I loved the red because of all the nostalgic memories it stirred up inside of me. It was hard to say goodbye to the red & do our dream color white, but I knew I'd love it just as much. And I do, we do, we all love this creamy soft white with our bubblegum pink doors. I didn't think I could love this house anymore than I already did, but now with every single nail hole caulked and layers of fresh white paint applied, I fell in love with it all over again. The decking was stained & it was very thirsty wood. We had thought we'd need to replace it all next year, but the stain brought the wood back to life and I think we'll be able to move another project up the timeline as we move the new decking back. It was a pleasant surprise to see how well it turned out with just some stain.

Amazon Find: Gold Glitter Hexagon Sunglasses

Amazon Find: Gold Glitter Hexagon Sunglasses

I have an obsession with sunglasses, and so does Maggie Mermaid! When we go to the pool I like to take knock-off cheap sunglasses, that way if they get lost or damaged, I don't feel incredibly disappointed. I just found an oversized hexagon gold glitter pair from Amazon to match my mini's gold glitter pair & I'm in love with them. If these got damaged or lost I would actually be quite disappointed. They are only $13! $13! I had to share them with you all because they are sooooo adorable, great fit, and a total steal.

Master Bedroom: Chantilly Lace Paint + Beaded Chandelier + Organic Linen Bedding

Master Bedroom: Chantilly Lace Paint + Beaded Chandelier + Organic Linen Bedding

For my birthday all I wanted was to wake up in all new bed linens! I decided on a blanket from West Elm & organic sheets + duvet cover from the Hearth & Hand - Magnolia Collection at Target. I debated back and forth on the linen, as I had never slept on it before, and I wondered if I'd prefer a really soft Egyptian cotton instead. I'm so happy I went with the linen, it has this airy + cool feel to it at night, and it's very refreshing yet cozy. If you've never used organic linen bed sheets before I highly suggest it, especially for the warmer months. And what a great Mother's Day idea, wink wink.

Unicorn Rainbow Playroom Design Ideas

Unicorn Rainbow Playroom Design Ideas

A dedicated spot for make believe, a place where all the childhood magic can happen, I've come to the conclusion that playrooms are a requirement for homes with children! Magnolia's playroom is full of unicorns, rainbows, soft colors, & a collection of toys that make her room one of my favorites in our whole house. When her cousins come over they can play in here for hours & I love peeking in on them and watching their imaginations run wild. We have an Alexa in here & the kids love to request their favorite songs as they play. At the end of this post I've linked all the main items in her room & the pink play kitchen is currently 50% off. Our favorite book list can be found here.

Yoga Studio at Home

Yoga Studio at Home

Hello, friends!

Our front room has already been designed in my head with a grand French gold leaner mirror, a blush pink velvet sofa with English turned legs, handwoven high pile rug, round coffee table, & accent chairs that will make any guest want to stay a little longer. It'll be 6-9 months before we can start on this space. We've got a big exterior project coming up this spring & our powder room renovation starts on Monday! Very excited to share those projects with you soon.

Our New Home at Christmas 2019

Our New Home at Christmas 2019

Merry Christmas, friends!

I haven't posted since Halloween because life has been a whirlwind as we moved into our new home & immediately began making updates. I don't even remember the month of November, it's a complete blur to me. After the holidays I will do a proper BEFORE & AFTER post so I can share all that we've done to make it our very own home. Plus we still have wallpaper to install, lights to switch out, and random boxes to unpack. And lots of furniture to buy & that'll take years to complete as we hunt for all the pieces that belong in this home.

Denim Overalls

Denim Overalls

My sister & I were picking up my niece from high school & we both saw a cute girl wearing overalls. And at the exact same moment we both decided & said out loud "getting some!" I still remember my favorite pair from my junior year & I'm quite happy to see they are making a come back! Now if we could just get the permed hairstyle to make a come back then I'd be set. Remember how easy it was to use some Paul Mitchell coconut scented mouse, use the diffuser & make your permed hair HUGE!?!?

Ok, so back to the overalls. I've had so many questions about mine & they are from H&M here. They have a fun little side zip detail that makes them feel modern & not so 1990s-ish. My sister already got the exact same pair & now we have to make sure we don't wear them on the same day because that would just be a little too weird for our liking.

I've rounded up some other favorites, including a shorts & dress version, both would be perfect for spring/summer.

So tell me what is something from the 1990s that you'd love to see make a come back?!?

Ten Grazing Platter Ideas For Your Next Party

Ten Grazing Platter Ideas For Your Next Party

For Magnolia's second birthday party I made a vanilla buttercream cake & a bunch of confetti rainbow colored sugar treats, along with a platter of snacks. The grazing boards are so easy & fun to make for any celebration. Sometimes I pull out everything from the fridge & put it on a cutting board for Ryan & I to snack on before dinner. It's a great way to use up all the fruits & veggies and any small portions of hummus, guacamole or dips that need to be eaten before they go bad. Whether you need ideas for your next party or just an excuse to clean out the fridge for some weeknight entertainment, I've got a fun round-up for you.

Our Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree

On Saturday we put up our fake Christmas tree because there just aren't enough days to celebrate the most beautiful time of the year! Leading up to this weekend & after much debate, Ryan & I agreed we needed to do a fake tree this year. We absolutely LOVED going to the Christmas tree farm with Magnolia last year to pick out our blue spruce tree. We decided it'd be our tradition to go to the Christmas tree farm every year on the day after Thanksgiving to get our tree. And then our baby became a curious toddler & we added a puppy to the family. I knew that one of them (or both) would get hurt with a needle before the season was over. And I really did not want to vacuum nine times a day every single day, and trust me, it would have been necessary!

A Modern Farmhouse - Parade of Homes

A Modern Farmhouse - Parade of Homes

This weekend with Pumpkin Spice Lattes in hand we twirled around beautiful new construction homes --- well Magnolia did most the twirling! And Ryan & I did the latte drinking. All three of us were oohing & awwing!!! We did the Parade of Homes, first time for me, and something Ryan grew up doing. I have no idea why I never went on the tours before because it was so-much-fun. The entire weekend was all Ryan's idea & I'm really grateful he encouraged us to do them. Now we will probably go every year. We have been seriously talking about selling our home next year & building a custom home, which made the tours even more exciting for us. So for the most part we looked at homes in our price range, with the exception of the one I'm sharing today. Sunday morning we toured a modern farmhouse that you'd think Chip & Joanna Gaines flew to Kansas City to do for Summit Homes! It was way out of our price range, but let me tell you I took hundreds of photos because I want to be copycat & incorporate many of the elements into our next home. I told one of the realtors we met with, to tell his builder to make a smaller version of this house, because I really need a slice of this pie! I'd be happy with 1/3 of this house. They didn't miss a detail.

Stationery & Invitations by Basic Invite

Stationery & Invitations by Basic Invite

Opening the mailbox to find a beautifully addressed note brings about the warmest of feelings. To pull apart the envelope to find the surprise inside, whether it be an invitation to a celebration, or a note to say thank you, or simply a handwritten card to say I'm thinking of you & I love you, it's a little act of kindness that carries so much beauty in our rushed lives. I don't know about you, but I know it's tempting to just send a text or Facebook message to share what used to be delivered through the mail. No matter how busy life gets, I'll always be drawn to fine papers & stationery. And that brings me to today's post. Basic Invite is an online custom invitation company with tons of affordable & stylish designs. I'm excited to tell you about them.

Custom Samples: They are one of the only paper companies that allows customers to order custom samples before placing a final order. To be able to feel the quality of the paper & see the custom colors before committing is a big deal! When my samples arrived my expectations were definitely exceeded. The paper is so nice & the color is rich & vibrant.

Almost Unlimited Colors: Okay for me this was the funnest part, after picking from all their stylish designs. All the design elements can be color customized & they have every color in the rainbow (180 different colors). No kidding I played around with the colors for hours because it gave me instant previews. Most paper companies do not have websites this advanced to allow custom element changes & instant previews. Every last detail could be changed! That's why you'll notice mainly pastel pinks & blues in my samples.

Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes: What is the first thing you see when someone sends you a beautiful card? The envelope! And Basic Invite has over 40 different envelope colors to pick from. Another perk: they're all peel & seal!

Address Capturing Service: This is a really cool feature. They offer an address capturing service that allows customers to share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media format to request their friend's & family's addresses which will be stored in the customer's account & can be selected during the design process. At Christmas they offer this recipient address printing at no charge. You can guess where I'll be getting our Christmas cards this year!

Foil: Foil cards are available in gold, silver, and even rose gold.

Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off all orders with coupon code: 15FF51

Before I end this, I have to share their adorable sailor baby shower invitations. You have to go look at all the sweetest nautical designs, like this Baby on Board one. Cute Cute!

What does your handwriting say about you? A graphologist's analyzation here.

Yours Truly xo

My Spring Time Favorites

My Spring Time Favorites

It's Friday & happy day to you! I've got a bottle of Rose chilling in the fridge as I type this. Madeleine Peyroux, a glass of wine, & family time on the deck is on the calendar every single weekend from now on! Pulling Magnolia's high chair out to the deck for dinner is my new favorite thing, the mess is so much easier to clean up.

Summer is so close I can taste it, and I'm already calling our spring days summer, because honestly I don't really know when it's officially a new season half the time! Today I'm sharing a few of my favorites for this time of year.

If you're a regular Target shopper like me then surely you've already swooned over all the new Opalhouse home decor items. It's got that Anthropologie flair & I'm in love. The peacock king size sheets are only $50. Cannot beat that!

I have an obsession with sunglasses & I've finally found a brand called Wildfox that is not crazy expensive & they actually mix mirrored lenses with stylish frames. Maybe I've been shopping at Sunglass Hut for too long, because they always have mirrored lenses in boring frames & vice versa.

My gold J. Crew capri sandals are a summer staple. That's all I have to say about them! & you need a pair.

I'm still carrying a diaper bag, a heavy diaper bag I must say, & if I'm not using the stroller it's just too much. I keep my crossbody bag in the car for an easy swap if we are just running in & out of somewhere. The misty mint color is pretty pretty!

Cute, comfy, easy - this denim skirt!

Ryan surprised me with this bracelet on Valentine's Day. It's extra special to me because it's not something I would have picked out for myself, but now I adore it & wear it almost every day. It's lightweight & nice to wear alone or layered with other bracelets.

Hot pink lipstick called Candy Yum Yum that screams summa' time fun with your messy sea salt hair + mirrored sunglasses!

Shop my favorites by clicking on the images/links below! Hoping your weekend ahead is full of laughter & some hot pink kisses.

xoxo

Pinches of Pink

Pinches of Pink

Our home is filled with little pinches of pink from the pillows on our sofa, to the fireplace mantle decor, and our powder room & front door is painted Valspar's Baby Blush. Every room has just a little. Valentine's Day gave me an extra excuse to bring in all the pink, but now we have spring & Easter coming & yet another reason to bring in all the pastel colors. And lots & lots of pinks! This bathroom vanity by Elsie Larson has my mind twirling with ideas for our upper level bathroom that we plan to renovate one day soon!

Before we know it, it'll be spring & I know that you're looking forward to the warmer weather!!! I think we all are this year more than ever, especially with all the nasty flu stuff that has been going around. When the sun starts to shine longer & the winds start blow in that refreshing air that makes you want to open your sunroof & turn up the radio, you know it's time to start getting excited. When the weather starts to turn I like to bring in fresh flowers & new candles, this Capri Blue Volcano is my #1 favorite of all time. I like to update my wardrobe with at least one new pair of sandals, and I always end up in pinkish nude flip flops most days. With Easter a pink floral dress is a must! And I'm thinking that I can get rid of the diaper bag this spring & go back to a regular purse. I've got all the heart eyes for this Rebecca Minkoff vintage pink satchel! I've linked some of my favorite spring & pink products below!

I had the hardest time deciding between the Rose & Rose Gold face, and finally picked the Rose. I'm so happy with my decision, it's the perfect pinch of color. I'm wearing the Cora Series watch in Zebrawood & Rose. I adore all the little sparkly stones for the finest of detailing. And the best part of all - no batteries needed!

Ryan is wearing the Conway series in Kosso & Midnight Blue. It's a classic watch with a modern
touch. He says "it fits just right" & I think it looks very handsome on him!

I am Mrs. Smith thanks to Ryan asking me to the Eric Church concert! I had met him many years before & nothing became of us the first time our paths crossed. The timing was not right then. It was the second time we met, thanks to our mutual best friends (his best friend is married to my best friend). On a whim he asked me to the Eric Church concert & I didn't know how to respond, and so I didn't. Several weeks had passed & he followed up with my best friend, asking again, if I would go with him to the concert. I replied to her with "just say YES!"

His wedding band is engraved with TAKE ME TO CHURCH, and so I had his watch engraved with the same words. My cedar box with the same engraving will be a keepsake forever.

If you were to give a JORD watch as a gift remember the extra special touch of engraving it. Thoughtful gifts are the very best, and this would certainly make one to be cherished for all of time!

In case you missed the giveaway details above they are below again.

There's only one thing more precious than our time, and that's who we spend it on. - Leo Christopher

9 Adorable Baby Pajama Sets

9 Adorable Baby Pajama Sets

There is nothing cuter than a baby in sweet little jammies! Yesterday I shared Five Things I Didn't Know I Needed before bringing Magnolia home from the hospital. I mentioned the zip-up footed pajamas she's wearing here. When we have another baby we will stock up on these instead of all the cute outfits, especially if we have another winter baby.

With her first birthday quickly approaching I've been going down memory lane & looking at all the itty-bitty baby photos I have of her. We lived in pajamas those first few months. And who am I kidding, we still do! Today I'm sharing nine of my current favorites for the little tots.

Hey momma, if you're looking for some cute pajamas I'm currently eyeing these.
