This past weekend was the best as we got to do all the finishing touches. Ryan installed the new brass lanterns, put the string lights back up over the patio, our ferns & American flag found their way back to the front porch, new brass + handmade art deco house numbers were installed, and I got to add some new rugs & front porch decor. Our new white rocking chairs are here & ready to be put together. I cannot stop dreaming about hot coffee, peach iced tea, and botanical cocktails on this front porch as the golden leaves are falling from our trees this autumn. We still need to figure out the seating & decor for our breezeway area. I'm thinking all the boho vibes. Our back patio is our v favorite place to have dinner & hang with the doggies. We had my family over Saturday night for an impromptu barbeque & the kids had a blast playing in Maggie Mermaids matching playhouse.
We are hosting Halloween this year & I've got some extra spooky decor ideas up my sleeve. I cannot wait to get started on autumn + Halloween decor. And Ryan is pretty excited about Christmas lights & all the festive stuff we will get to do in November.
I said this on Instagram already, but I'll say it again here, I'm so incredibly grateful Ryan lets me do pinches of pink all over our home. There were so many ladies that commented on our front porch photo and they either said "BRB going to paint my door pink right now" or "my husband would never let me do that!" If you see a house with a pink door, just know a very loving & kind man must live there! And a cool guy, a very cool guy too!
I snapped photos of the finished project all weekend long, from different angles at different times of the day. One of the big reasons I love white paint is because the lighting shifts are quite dramatic. I love all the shadows that are casted on the house as the trees sway in the breeze. At around 4 pm our breezeway becomes a work of art as the tree dances with the wind & reflects onto the carriage house.
