I'm Future Mrs. Smith

I'm so happy and excited about our BIG news, I don't even know where to begin!

I'll start with Friday night. Ryan and I went to eat at my little brother's restaurant. He's the sous chef at 801 Fish. I immediately ordered a glass of prosecco and Ryan got a yellow cocktail - I can't remember the name, but it was good. We sat at the chef's table and we were able to watch my brother cook all of our food for us. My brother sent out the most delicious hush puppies I've ever eaten in my life. When I go to a place that has shrimp and grits on the menu I always order it. My brother cooked some up for us, as a small dish, so we could taste it and still order a fish for dinner. I'm not just saying this because he's my brother, it was the best shrimp and grits I've ever tasted. Then I had salmon for my main dish and Ryan had the curry halibut that was created by my brother for the menu. I'm not a foodie like my brother, so it's hard for me to explain how fresh and delicious the dinner was, but I will say that it was amazing. We ended the meal with a dish of salted caramel ice cream.

When we got home Ryan said "go put on your pjs, I'm going to take Mrs. out!" There was nothing unusual about this, because that is our typical nightly routine. We spend a lot of time on our back porch --- we drink our morning coffee out there, we watch the sunset, and we watch the stars sparkle in the clear dark sky. After I put on my pjs I headed to the kitchen to get a drink of water and I noticed that all the lights were off outside. A little odd. I walked to the back door and opened it, and all of sudden the back porch was lit up with romantic string lights, there were red roses, I could hear music playing, and I saw a table with champagne and flutes...Ryan was down on his knee and he asked me to marry him! I'll never ever forget the love I saw in his eyes. When he stood up we hugged and kissed for a long time. I remember the feeling that I didn't want to let him go and I wanted time to stand still. We sat on the back porch smiling for a long time and listened to the playlist that he had made for us. We starred at the beautiful diamond ring that was sparkling on my finger (I've been starring at it all weekend long) and we dreamed about our wedding day and our forever together.

This is the song he had playing when I opened the door - when he was down on one knee. He swept me off my feet the night I met him, and he continues to love me in a way I never knew I needed.

The ring was custom made, and it is perfect.

I can't wait to be his Mrs. Smith, and to have his babies, and grow old with him. I like to tell him he's my 'romantic comedy' that all my friends knew I dreamed about before we met.

The Mrs. Smith photography was taken by my sister Haley!

I've always said this is my song for him. He had it on the playlist Friday night and it will definitely be on our wedding playlist.

All weekend long we've been calling each other fiance, because it just feels so darn good!

We are planning an October wedding on his parent's beautiful land.

Home Tour: An Open Airy Condo

Can you believe this space is only 700 square feet? The neutral palette along with the light and airy feel creates an inviting space. The designer behind this cozy home is Toronto based interior designer Jacquelyn Clark of Lark & Linen

Ten things to adore about this condo:

  1. That simple mirror above the fireplace. It may just be the mirror - from Ikea - that I've been eyeing for a wall in my home. This one
  2. The light and bright paint colors throughout the entire space.
  3. White bed linens in the bedroom with pops of color on the pillows.
  4. The jute rug in the dining room that gives the area it's "own" designated space.
  5. The artful mix of classic and modern decor.
  6. Dramatic elements, like the black glossy cabinet in the dining room, that anchors the room.
  7. The 25 year old Ikea desk against the graphic office area.
  8. Industrial-chic DIY pipe bookcase.
  9. Contemporary artwork and pillows in the bedroom.
  10. The eclectic mix of pillows on the sofa. My favorite is the black spotted.

Beauty at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Nordstrom Anniversay Sale is in full swing now! It opens to the public today! You can now shop all of your favorites - no Nordstrom card required. I cannot believe how many beauty product deals they have going on right now, here. I seriously want to stock up on all of my make-up essentials, and try a few new ones! Beauty products rarely go on sale, maybe at Christmas time you can get a package or gift with purchase, but this sale is a big deal.

Go check out the Boutique link above to see some of the beauty products I have on my shopping list. I highly recommend the Nars products, especially the blush and eyeshadows. They go on like silk and stay all day long. Mac is my favorite for lipstick. And I use Lancome foundation and face powder. The Butter nail polish will give you a salon looking manicure.

These Kate Spade Glitter earrings are darling! I'll be ordering them later today.

Click any of the products below to be taken directly to the Nordstorm Anniversary Sale.

Have fun shopping, and have a great weekend!

Wanderlust (n.) A strong desire or urge to wander or travel and explore the world.

We are going to Nashville this month for Ry's birthday and we went to Charleston and Clearwater for mine in April. I'm just now getting around to editing and sharing the photos from my Canon camera. I figured I should work on the photos from that trip before our next vacation! I did an Instagram post on Charleston that you can read here

Ryan asking me to the Eric Church concert was the beginning of "us." Things like this keep happening. Our hotel in Charleston was coincidentally on Church Street.

"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic -- the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." - Charles de Lint

Photos from our stroll around the beautiful streets of Charleston.

We stopped here to sip on the fresh squeezed lemonade we purchased at the Farmer's Market.

The Angel Oak Tree, estimated to be 400-500 years old, was an experience I'll never forget. It was a place that evoked all the senses, and the smell is something I wish I could share in the photos.

We stayed in Charleston for three nights and then we headed down to Clearwater, Florida for some relaxing beach time.

The sunsets were simply breathtaking.

More snapshots from our vacation - the Instagrams. I used an app called Social Print Studio to print all of our vaca Instagram photos. You can follow them on Instagram @socialps - the photos are great quality and it's a wonderful feeling to have the photos actually in your hand. I printed photo strips too, they are randomly hanging directly on the walls throughout our home.

Follow along for our next adventure in Nashville on Instagram @wendycorreen

We can't wait to visit some of these restaurants in Nashville here

Cheers!
