Hot Chocolate & Cuddle

Ryan likes to joke with me that this time of year is all about "hot chocolate & cuddle!" We drink a lot of hot chocolate around here, or I guess I should say, I drink a lot of hot chocolate this time of year. If we don't have plans for a Sunday our default plans are to watch movies and drink hot chocolate, when in reality we don't usually make it through ten minutes of a movie before we are on the floor playing with Magnolia or doing some type of chore, such as endless loads of laundry. Either way, the Christmas season is for sweet treats and family time.

Baby's First Christmas Shopping List

If I was honest with you, I'd tell you that I started working on Magnolia's Christmas list in July - seriously! I'm clearly excited! I've read about & put thought into each item that Santa will be putting under our tree. I also made an Amazon wish list for our family. Magnolia will be just a month shy of her first birthday on Christmas & I've found items that she'll be able to grow into. She absolutely LOVES music & the piano is for ages 3+ but I chose to look past the age suggestion as I know she'll enjoy it right away & for years to come. The piano is made from wood and doesn't take any batteries (win-win). She's obsessed with our cell phones & although I prefer toys that do not light up or make sounds on their own, I figured we could make an exception so that she could have phones like her mommy & daddy. This Little Piggy Rocker is absolutely adorable and it's already arrived. Ryan and I took a peek at it and the quality is definitely there. Candy Kirby dolls are stylish & made with mostly organic materials & water based non-toxic inks. Trying to pick just one was a task. We've been singing the ABCs since she was born & I'm a lover of wood toys. The Janod alphabet puzzle is going to be a big hit, I'm sure of that. All babes need a shape sorter & this one is made of wood and muted colors. The bunny doll is by a company I truly admire, Cuddle + Kind, for every doll sold they will provide ten meals to a child in need.

Our Thanksgiving Weekend

The weekend before Thanksgiving Magnolia came down with a stomach virus. She made it almost ten months without an illness & to see her sick for the first time broke my heart. It all started Friday night after we went to bed, she woke up crying and I knew she had a stomach ache. We sat up in bed for a little bit & then all of sudden she vomited everywhere! My first thought was that the toast she had with dinner was too grainy for her little belly to digest. We soon realized it was more than just a simple belly ache, as she continued to get sick every time she nursed. Saturday morning we took her to the doctor and got specific instructions to make sure she stayed hydrated and we spent the weekend at home cuddling our sweet girl & giving her Pedialyte each time she got sick.

A Jolly Time Of Year

It's that jolly time of year. I've got Christmas music on Pandora, fall decor on the fireplace mantle, a dining room table full of new Christmas stuff, and my sisters are texting about side dishes for Thanksgiving day. The running joke in our family is that all of us will bring sweet rolls because of a summer barbeque when my sister told every single person in the family to bring buns. And we did and we had enough bread at the party to feed 100.

Sunday Goodness

With the cold temperatures upon us, as well as the holiday season, our family also has several birthdays to celebrate! Today we are going to party it up at Chuck E Cheese for our sweet niece's fourth birthday. Magnolia has never been to a place like Chuck E Cheese before & I'm definitely looking forward to her reaction to all the flashing lights, crazy sounds, and childhood excitement!

Magnolia At Nine Months & Our Thoughts On More

November and fall is the season to celebrate thankfulness. Gratitude is a topic that is dear to me. When I look at the photos we had taken to remember our sweet Magnolia at nine months, all I can see is gratitude. Our letter board that sits on the fireplace mantle currently reads, "If the only prayer you said was THANK YOU, that would be enough." It was during our journey to Magnolia, on the days we questioned whether this dream we are living would come to life, that we had to practice thankfulness despite the trial. I learned how important it is to look for and praise the blessings during the trials of our life. Not a day goes by that I don't think about all the moments I asked God for this life that I'm living. God has blessed us more than I could have ever imagined.

Our Kitchen Renovation & Project Details

It's been over two years since we moved into our home. And today, I'm finally sharing our kitchen BEFORE & AFTER photos and project details. My number one goal was to take it from the dark & gloomy kitchen that it was to a bright & airy space. I wanted white on white, with marble + gold + sparkle. On a sunny day our home is bright and full of light, and even on the cloudiest of days our home is still airy and fresh.

A November Weekend With The Family

This weekend we celebrated my sister's birthday ALL WEEKEND LONG! I sure hope she felt special, because she is and we love her so very much. Friday night, Magnolia and I wore our comfy clothes over to Haley's house. My sister Mallory came down with her babes and we lounged around, talked, & ate tacos! Our conversations ranged from the Kardashian sisters' pregnancies to more serious topics like bullying.

Magnolia isn't up running around with her cousins yet, but she watches them with bright eyes and soon enough she'll be part of their cool cousin squad!

On Saturday I took family photos for my sister at the trails behind our home! I got some amazing shots and we think they turned out great. Mylene and Addy hopped down onto a few creek rocks and made us all nervous, but the photographs by the water are my favorite.

After their family photos we went out for Mexican, yet again, I might have a small obsession with tacos!!!

And then Sunday came so fast! We had our whole family celebration at my brother Joey's restaurant, Louie's Wine Dive in Waldo. He spoiled all of us with appetizers, like freshly made guacamole, calamari, and fried cheese. I enjoyed the most delicious salmon, while everyone else had pulled pork. We all sang her Happy Birthday at the end of the night as my sweet brother brought out "his version" of apple pie with goat cheese & a sparkling candle on top.

Ryan and I took some photographs before we left and Magnolia is just a little hoot. She makes the funniest faces when she's laughing. 'Tis the season for shimmery sweater dresses. I can't help but see her like the little snowflake baby that she is when I look at her in these photos.

Is she really mine!?! Nine months in and I still find myself thinking this is all a dream. Being her mommy is nothing short of a dream come true.

We have some pretty serious conversations.

Goofball, she loves to make us laugh.

My world in a little square right here.

We had such a merry little weekend, and I hope you did too!

I have many things on my to-do list for the week, but the funnest thing to do is check out Chip & Joanna Gaines' Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collection at Target! I'm ready to decorate for Christmas, I'm not sure I can wait until after turkey day.

Have a great week friends.
XO

I cannot wait to shop for all of this! All the heart eyes.

Magnolia Market & She's Nine Months

Ryan went to Dallas for work a few weeks ago, and he took a trip to Waco to visit Magnolia Market, just so he could surprise us with a bunch of Magnolia goodies. I've been burning their Fall candle all week, our whole house smells like pumpkin chai! I've wanted a new sweatshirt for sometime now and this one is perfect - it's soft, cozy, and it has our baby's name on it! I think I'll just live in it until April. New uniform alert. Seriously though, I already want another one. Magnolia also got a new onesie and although it's size 18 months it pretty much fits her (yes, I might cry because of the cuteness and the fact that time needs to slow down!). Visiting Magnolia Market at the Silos with our Magnolia is on my 2018 to-do list. I've heard so many great things about it. I definitely want to shop at the market, relax on the lawn, grab a bite to eat from one of their food trucks, visit the garden, and of course get a sweet treat from their bakery!

Dreams Come True & Unicorns Are Real

Just like that our baby celebrated her first Halloween & I ate one too many Witches Hats. I don't know about you, but I believed in unicorns way longer than Santa. I always joke that someone forgot to tell me that there wasn't a magical land with rainbow waterfalls and beautiful white horses with golden horns frolicking in the wildflowers.
