Hot Chocolate & Cuddle

Ryan likes to joke with me that this time of year is all about "hot chocolate & cuddle!" We drink a lot of hot chocolate around here, or I guess I should say, I drink a lot of hot chocolate this time of year. If we don't have plans for a Sunday our default plans are to watch movies and drink hot chocolate, when in reality we don't usually make it through ten minutes of a movie before we are on the floor playing with Magnolia or doing some type of chore, such as endless loads of laundry. Either way, the Christmas season is for sweet treats and family time.

Ryan told me last night that he'll be home the week before & the week of Christmas. Magnolia and I did a happy dance before bed. He's been traveling a lot for work lately, and we are really looking forward to time together doing all the festive things I have dreamed up for us to do.

Today I wanted to share my hot chocolate recipe & a few others that I want to try before 2018.

My go-to mixture
1/4 cup vanilla coffee creamer (I use almond milk creamer)
Fill the remainder of the mug with your choice of milk (again I use almond milk)
Heat in the microwave for a few minutes
Add in your scoops of hot cocoa mix (we currently have Nestle & Starbucks mixes in our pantry)
Top with as much whipped cream as you desire
Sprinkle pink Himalayan salt on top
Add sprinkles, chocolate chips, drizzles of caramel

With the holidays upon us you'll surely have extra sweets around, like toffee, Christmas sprinkles, syrups, and of course I think all of those would be delightful on top of the whipped cream. I just heard that Trader Joe's has a dairy-free whipped cream & I must go pick up a bottle very soon.

By our twinkling lights with Elf on the TV, I want to try this Peanut Butter Nutella S'Mores Hot Chocolate & this Chai-Spiced Hot Chocolate. And Frozen whipped cream cubes cut out with festive cookie cutters, such a great idea!

And aren't these just the cutest Polar Bear Marshmallows you've ever seen?

These Mint Snowman Marshmallows are just as cute! If you're looking for a small gift this Hot Chocolate on a Stick Set would be sweet treat for a loved one. And I think new mugs are always a great gift for any coffee or hot chocolate drinking friends, my current favorites are these black & white spotted ones.

It's almost the weekend & here's to hoping you've had a great week and even better weekend ahead.

XO
