Brrrrrrr.....Kansas City is under a winter weather advisory this morning. Magnolia went to bed with so much anticipation about the snow headed our way. I woke up to her yelling "IT'S SNOWING IT'S SNOWING!!!" as she peeked out the windows. She ran to her room & got her snow suit, came back and had the whole day planned, with snowman building & lots of hot chocolate on the agenda. We don't even have an inch yet and she is on our deck - in her sandals & Christmas nightgown - crunching around in it!!! She's singing "Let it Go" and my heart can barely handle it. I know she is dreaming about the snow castle she wants to build with her tiny little hands, just like Elsa did in Frozen. I also look at her & feel amazed by her passionate love of the cold & give credit to the fact that she was once frozen time. Our little IVF golden egg miracle!!!
Heyyyyyy, FRIENDS!!! October in the Midwest is pure magic. The cool autumn breeze + golden leaves falling to the ground makes it just the absolute best. October is always my very favorite month of the year & also our wedding anniversary month. We picked an October wedding date for a reason. It's so crazy looking back on this year. This month has been the polar opposite of April. We have been on the go-go-go almost every single day. As always I have a phone full of photos I've taken to save moments in time & I just have to share some of them now before I have a huge book.
This year I was counting down the days for October first to arrive! We put huge outdoor spiders all over our freshly painted white house, with a group of bats, over 150 pounds of pumpkins, and the biggest mums of all time!!! I've heard the neighborhood kids love the spooky spiders & nothing makes my heart happier. At the end of this post I'll link the spiders & bats we ordered from Amazon. And if you're wondering how we installed them, we did it a little different than what we read online about using fishing wire. And by we, I mean Ryan, did it a little different. He tried the fishing wire technique first and it didn't work. Exterior command hooks + zip ties to the rescue! Once he successfully got the first one up it was a breeze from there.
