Maggie Mermaid Met a Real Life Unicorn

2020 isn't stealing the magic from Magnolia's world! I'll be honest, the mom guilt hit hard earlier this year, I felt like she was missing out on so much that she'd never get back. She's only three once! And I know all you mamas totally get that feeling. I guess I still get a little sad about it when I think about this past year, BUT, big BUT, Ryan & I are trying our very hardest to do all we can to make this year one she'll always remember as being special & nothing short of magical. Music was cancelled but she started dance & we didn't go to the beach but we spent a lot of time poolside. We missed several birthday parties, but we started having small family gatherings as soon as we could. We didn't go to the zoo or the local farmstead, but we got a puppy! She's met all the kids in the neighborhood & loves to call them all her "friends" and even though she's the youngest of them all, they play so well with her. And she adores them! My sisters & I plan play dates with the cousins as much as we can. There is not a day that goes by that she isn't dressed as a princess & dance parties happen all day long.

And she fully believes she's a mermaid, 100% with all her heart, she is a mermaid. Her name is not Magnolia Caroline, but Maggie Mermaid. She also believes in unicorns & she got to meet a real life one!!! Leading up to this day she was sooooo excited (so was I) and the drive to meet this sweet guy was about an hour long. As soon as we hit the country roads and got closer to his home, from the back seat she started to pinch her little fingers together & say "I'm just a tiny bit scared!" She did pretty good meeting a real life unicorn, but we had to stay by her side at all times. Our photographer did an amazing job capturing her happiness in the moment with her very cautious heart. When it comes to safety and being over the top careful - she is my mini! There is nothing that makes her happier than twirling around in a princess dress. I'm so happy we did these special photos to capture our girl feeling the magic in the midst of one bizarre year. This is how we will remember her at the age of three in the year 2020!!!
