Magnolia's Playroom & Our Current Favorite Books

Magnolia's playroom is one of our favorite rooms in the house. The bay windows make it feel sunshiny and bright all day long. I love watching her play & create & I snapped some photos of her room in its natural element this weekend while she was singing her heart out to Frozen II. Seeing her baby dolls, glitter shoes, iced cupcakes and just all of her toys thrown all over the place is something that always makes me smile. And then with a smile I clean it up during her naps, because I like it to be tidy, and honestly I find it therapeutic in some odd way. Maybe because cleaning her sweet little pink kitchen is way more fun than cleaning mine!


Magnolia has baskets of books all over the house & in the playroom we have the very best of them all. The ones we like to read over & over again. I've linked them below in case you need some new books for your little ones. I think they are the sweetest addition to holiday gifts, themed for the occasion, like Valentine's Day or Easter or Christmas.



I'm always sad when people remind me that children are not taught cursive in school anymore. I cannot wait to teach Magnolia the art of beautiful handwriting someday!





Ry put an Alexa in the playroom and she uses it all the time. This weekend we had the Frozen II soundtrack going and this girl was singing her lungs out. When her cousins come over they are always requesting different songs & it's such a treat to watch them play to the sound of music they have selected!





And now, onto our very best books at the moment:

Cat & Bunny this is the cutest book ever with little baby animals & would be the sweetest addition to an Easter basket.

Monty the Poodle this was a gift from our Valentine to Magnolia at Christmas. Of course we have a special love for poodles. A story about hope for an inclusive world. Highly recommend.

Maggie the Magnolia I got this book at my baby shower and it was the one gift that made me tear up. A fun idea is to search for a book that has a character with the same name as your child!

The Wonderful Things You'll Be the drawings in this book make me want to tear out the pages and frame them all. Over the top cute book! This would be a perfect Valentine's Day or even Easter gift.

Magnolia's Magnificent Map another one with a character name that makes our hearts happy! The illustrations in this one are as sweet as the story. I'm a sucker for pretty art!

The Fox Wish a book about friendship with classic & beautiful illustrations.

Bunny Roo I Love You add this to your little one's Easter basket! You'll enjoy it as much as them.

Dream Animals a great story to read before bed & all the books by this author are amazing!

Bloom An Ode to Spring the Easter bunny delivered this one last year! By the same author as the popular Pout-Pout Fish series and makes you feel happy inside dreaming spring.

You and Me and the Wishing Tree this is a great birthday gift book about wishes, a magical part of childhood.

I'm always on the lookout for new books that are both beautifully illustrated and tell a special story. If you have any please do share! We will need some new ideas for Valentine's Day & Easter. Many times I will use Amazon to click on our favorite authors to see what other books they have that we may want to add to our collection.
