Our New Home at Christmas 2019

Merry Christmas, friends!

I haven't posted since Halloween because life has been a whirlwind as we moved into our new home & immediately began making updates. I don't even remember the month of November, it's a complete blur to me. After the holidays I will do a proper BEFORE & AFTER post so I can share all that we've done to make it our very own home. Plus we still have wallpaper to install, lights to switch out, and random boxes to unpack. And lots of furniture to buy & that'll take years to complete as we hunt for all the pieces that belong in this home.

Today, I'm sharing our holiday home tour. When I found out that our offer on this home was accepted the very first thought I had was that we'd be in our dream home just in time for the holidays. DREAM, total dream come true! We are beyond grateful to get to do life in this new house, it is absolutely perfect for us. Now that the big projects are completed, we are slowing down a bit (Ryan may disagree with that statement), and we are able to soak up every little bit of the magic of the season. We spend most of our time in the hearth room just off the kitchen, we have the fireplace going all the time and it really couldn't be any cozier.

The first room to come to life was Magnolia's playroom. The ten feet ceilings and the three bay windows with bright white walls is the sweetest backdrop for all of her adorable stuff. The sunshine in her room makes everything glow. Her grandparents sent us out one Saturday to let her pick out whatever Christmas decor she wanted & we did a tree with all the ornaments her heart desired! She's got cotton candy, ice cream cones, unicorns, donuts, ballerinas, swans, lollipops, pink poodles, gingerbread houses, every cute thing you can imagine on this tree. Now I want a Christmas tree in every room.

Every morning I wake up excited to come down stairs to our kitchen + hearth room. Morning coffee by the twinkling tree & warm fire is the best way to start a December morning. I can't help but daydream about Magnolia on Christmas morning. She is very into Christmas this year, she cannot wait to make sugar cookies & decorate Gingerbread houses with her cousins, she screams from the backseat each time we pass a brightly lit up house, & she is very adamant about NOT visiting Santa Claus this year. Rearranging the ornaments on the tree is a daily ritual!

Coming soon to this room is the absolute most amazing crystal chandelier. I cannot tell you how excited I am to see it installed. Fingers crossed it'll be up this coming weekend!

The kitchen updates included cabinet refinishing with white paint, crystal knobs, & glossy white subway tile. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out. We have little pinches of Christmas in the kitchen with my favorite holiday candles from Anthropologie. Yesterday, Magnolia & I got all the ingredients to make homemade sugar cookies, we love overloaded hot chocolate in Santa mugs, & cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning is our tradition! December is full of memory making & how wonderful it is that our first season in our home is full of all the festive fun.

Now that life is starting to get into a natural rhythm again, I'll be back soon to share little tours of our home & bits + pieces of life. Until then, wishing you the Merriest Christmas.

Love from all of us xo
