Six Cookies You Need To Make This Christmas Season

It's the weekend & Ryan is officially HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! He got back in town yesterday and he'll be home with us until we ring in 2018. Magnolia & I (and Mrs. too) couldn't be any happier to have him home with us to enjoy this season.

Today we are picking up & dropping off children's Christmas gifts to a local battered woman's shelter, we are having chicken tacos for dinner, I'll be wrapping gifts every chance I get & my cookie baking fun will finally begin. I made a little list of cookies I want to make before Christmas day, I doubt I'll get to making all of them, but I'll surely try. I wanted to share them with you, in case you're looking for some inspiration this weekend. I made the eggnog cookies a few years ago & they were quite delicious. The overly sprinkled sugar cookies are crazy, cute, & fun, and I plan to get out a big bowl & fill it with all the Christmas candy & sprinkles I can find. They're so crazy & fail proof I might be able to get help from my sweet Magnolia.

1. Italian Ricotta Cookies - soft, moist, and cake like cookies & you can use all the sprinkles!

2. Fail Proof Sugar Cookies - get in your pantry, pull out all the sprinkles, and bake up some sugar cookies to wildly decorate. I'm tempted to pick up pre-made sugar cookie dough & a thing of vanilla icing to make these. These are all about having fun, why not make it easy?

3. Peppermint Mocha Thin Mints - it's the season for all things chocolate & peppermint. This is another easy recipe using Oreos, chocolate chips, peppermint oil, coconut oil, espresso powder, and candy canes. Candy canes will be needed for #2 also!

4. Candy Cane Cookies - how do you make a candy cane taste like a cookie? Here you go! These would surely be a big hit with the little ones.

5. Eggnog Cookies - if you're an eggnog lover like me, you'll want to bake these melt-in-your-mouth cookies! I made these two years ago & they were delicious. Pour an icy glass of eggnog to enjoy while baking them.

6.  Stained Glass Sugar Cookies - too pretty to eat, but I know you will anyway. This recipe calls for a bag of colorful Jolly Ranchers!!! Thank you Martha Stewart.

What are you baking this holiday season? I'd love some more ideas!

Tomorrow we are celebrating our nieces 7th birthday. It'll be American Girl Doll themed and all the little girls are bringing their baby dolls to the party. It's going to be adorable & I'll plan to share all about it here sometime next week.

Merry Weekend to you & yours!
XO
