An Autumn Saturday at the Pumpkin Farm

About 75% of our October bucket list was checked off this Saturday!!! We spent the cool sunshiny day at Johnson Farms, a 40 acre pumpkin & flower farm about twenty minutes from our house, doing all the October stuff. A country band was setup by the barnyard grill where the apple cider donuts were made & the songs were swept away in the air that smelled of cinnamon + sugar. We arrived just in time to watch the pig race & cheer on our pick as they ran around the muddy track. Magnolia was smiling from ear-to-ear the entire day as she skipped from the silo play yard to the corn maze to the play truck! Ryan was brave enough to take her inside the big kid fort barn & they found their way through the maze of tunnels. Lucky for her she has a cool & brave daddy because I wasn't going in!

The best part of the day was when we got in line to get our donuts & hot apple cider. We were enjoying the cool breeze & live music when I couldn't believe my ears. The band started to play the song I played for Magnolia when I was pregnant, Magnolia by Eric Clapton & John Mayer. It's not a popular song at all & it felt so magical to hear it live with our sweet girl. We ran to the open space in front of the band & I twirled her around. Sweetest memory of the day!

Best view in the place, right on her daddy's shoulders, as we watched the little piggies run around the the race track!

All October bucket lists must include donuts with hot apple cider!!! It makes for all the warm & fuzzy feelings.

We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch & apple orchard. Magnolia's face expressed a bit of shock when the tractor took off & she wasn't in her carseat! We picked just enough apples to make a pie. And Magnolia has been saying "apple" clear as day all day long!

We stopped in to see the baby pigs with their momma & Magnolia got an up close view of all of them as the farmer brought in their lunch.

The donkey made her giggle & the goats (as usual) did NOT.

This Saturday was full of so much warm magic!!! A day trip to Johnson Farms will become an October tradition for us with all the autumn goodness wrapped up all in one place.

Thanks for coming along on the ride. I hope you all are enjoying the best of October!
