A Funeral, Birthday, & Wedding Kind of Weekend

This weekend we had a funeral, a birthday party, & a wedding. Talk about action packed whirlwind kind of days! We had family from both sides in town for all the gatherings & it was so nice to get to see loved ones that we don't get to see on a regular. In between all the events, I managed to get our home ready for fall, we drank coffee in bed while watching Tinkerbell as the rain pounded our windows, we ate way too much candy corn + peanuts, and we also baked & ate way too many pumpkin spice cookies, Magnolia did dance performances on the fireplace hearth, we cuddled with a wet doggy because the rainstorms never stopped, we regretfully Googled Valentine's favorite treat the Bully Stick (don't do it!), & Magnolia now takes our face in her chubby hands before giving us the tiniest + sweetest kisses.

It's been forever since my sisters & I took a photo together. We used to take photos of ourselves at every single gathering & now we only eagerly photograph our babes (understandably, they won't stop growing). On the way outside to take this photo we acknowledged that fact & even said we don't need to worry about getting the kids in this one because they probably won't want to pose anyway. Every single one followed us outside & ran into the photo (with the exception of my niece Mylene). So cute that they wanted to be in the photo with us! I guess we need to try reverse psychology more often.

My cousin Craigy married his best friend last night & it was the first time in a long time that our cousin Brett (from LA), our aunt & uncle (from Texas), and our busy bee of a brother were all together with us. I was too busy chasing Magnolia around the dance floor & catching up with everyone to get a lot of photos, but I got a few good ones!

That's by baby brother with his beautiful girlfriend, looking all cute with a baby in between them!!!

Magnolia wore the dress from her first birthday & she lit up when she put it on. I had Kids Bop Kids playing on Alexa as I was getting dressed & I was spying on her dancing in front of the fireplace glass doors as she watched her reflection. Her dance moves got even better when she hopped up on the hearth to use it as a stage & a place to clip-clop her heels.

Our wedding anniversary is this Wednesday & we are looking forward to a long overdue date night this Saturday!

Magnolia woke up this morning insisting that she put her tutu dress back on & so she did. I'm nurturing her inner princess & hope that it'll last a lonnngg time, like forever!

The way she looks at him.........awww my heart!

Saturday was Papa Jesse's birthday party at my sister's house. The kids played together as they anxiously waited to sing him Happy Birthday & dive into the chocolate cupcakes!!!

Magnolia helped me bake cookies for Papa Jesse! If you haven't tried the Pillsbury Pumpkin Spice cookie mix yet, you should! So good with cream cheese icing, cinnamon, & unlimited amounts of orange sugar sprinkles on top.

Have a great week friends. xo
