Boho Motherhood Photographs to Cherish

We are going into Mother's Day weekend & as always my heart takes me back to life in 2016. Five years ago Magnolia was a five day old embryo frozen in time and stored at a hospital 45 minutes away. I know all of us have moments in life that are frozen in our hearts & minds, stored away just as vividly as the day they were created. I remember this time of year in 2016 like it was yesterday. I remember it so richly that tears are flowing down my face. Today, five years ago, we were exactly two weeks away from transferring our baby girl to my uterus. The life we live now was just a dream in our hearts then. Oh my goodness the grateful tears...

Prayers were endless, there was a lot of waiting and trusting and faith filled hopes during the IVF process. I am blessed to celebrate Mother's Day because of this girl sent to us from Heaven above. Celebrating Mother's Day is a bittersweet & emotionally charged day for me. My heart always feels a bit of sadness because I know there are women that sit alone crying for their baby yet to come. Infertility is much more common than many people are aware of; some couples find it too painful to talk about. There are moms mourning the loss of babies gone too soon.  Women that have painful memories of miscarriages that burn far more intensely on this day. There are mothers and grandmothers in Heaven that are greatly missed.

A few weeks ago Magnolia & I did a boho motherhood photo session with the talented Shelby Lynn on her property right behind my parent's land. All day the forecast called for rain right at our scheduled time, but we went ahead and got ready for our session, and thankfully the rain never came. It was the first time we've ever laid on a bed in the middle of a beautiful field! Memories were made & now I have this moment of time, when I was 40 years old & Magnolia was four years old, saved in photographs to cherish forever.

My heart & prayers will continue to go out to all the moms that are in a hard season this Mother's Day.

Magnolia Caroline fills our days with endless joy & the time before her makes all the sense in the world now. The wait, the fight, the worry, the fear all turned to faith, and hope, and gratitude. Always thanking the Lord above for the gift of motherhood. The gift of her soul that we are blessed to know & love forever.

Wishing you & yours a Mother's Day full of love & blessings.

Lastly, a huge shout-out & thank you to Shelby for capturing all of this in ten minutes. If you are in the Kansas City area make sure to follow her on Instagram @shelbylynnstudios
