Easter 2021

I think it goes without saying that Easter 2021 was a special one for so many! Last year we did Easter basket exchanges between a window of glass & this year we were all together again. The sound of the kids laughter was that much more beautiful.

This was the year that Magnolia asked the sweetest questions from the backseat of the car. One sunny afternoon she asked, "mom, what does the Easter bunny look like?" I said I wasn't sure & asked what she thought he looked like. She told me she wasn't sure, but she'd dream about him and get back to me. A few days later she dreamed of the Easter Bunny! We found out that "SHE wears a pink & blue tutu, a princess crown, and she's tiny. She also goes apple picking in Grandma's woods!"

For weeks Magnolia plotted & planned a scheme to catch the Easter bunny. She was determined & I think she believed we would have a pet bunny after Easter Sunday. That we do not! We do have several new fluffy *stuffed* bunnies that she's been playing with for days.

Every year she gets a swimsuit or two in her basket. This year she got her first bikini in the sweetest Magnolia print. When she pulled out the top she squealed, "OMG it's a BOOBY swimsuit!!!" Of course I burst out laughing, all the while Ryan sat quietly and unresponsive. Across the kitchen table she flung that top around, repeating herself at least three more times, until Ryan finally couldn't hold in the laughter any longer!

The sun was shining bright & it was the perfect afternoon for a grill out with the family after the kid's went egg hunting.

Maggie Mermaid put so much thought into each basket she created for her cousins.

The Magic Jelly Beans arrived on Easter Eve & that called for a princess gown before planting her soon-to-be lollipop garden.

She said it was "kind of weird" how the Magic Jellybeans were just like the ones on our dining room table. Hmmm....that is so weird.

She insisted on her Christmas nightgown before bed on Saturday night. And then when she opened her eyes on Easter Sunday she said it felt like Christmas!
She is a fast little egg hunter!

All ready for a very fun afternoon with the fam.

The loves.

And the wild EGG HUNT!!!

Saving this blooper for the very end. The first & probably last (caught on camera) Marilyn Monroe moment of my life. And this was the PG-13 photo from the burst.

It was a fun one!

"He is not here: for He is Risen."

Feeling very blessed & very grateful.
