Saturday night was probably the hottest night of summer, or at least it felt that way. And it was the night I had scheduled mother + daughter photos with our friend & photographer Crista Hoppe, owner of Everly Photography. She did our maternity, newborn and first year of photos of Magnolia, including her first birthday party. Somehow life got ahead of us the last few years and we didn't get family photos done. We are playing catch up now & mommy + me photos are something I've always wanted to do. Next up will be real life unicorn photos & then family photos! Might even do some Christmas ones.

Anyway Saturday night felt like it was 100 degrees out & she dragged us through a huge field of purple clover & Queen Anne's Lace. She was worried I hated her for exposing us to all the bugs, and I was worried she hated me for being a total drama queen. Once we got to our spot & I started to feel relaxed, Magnolia & I were able to play in the meadow of wild flowers, under the trees that sparkled light at golden hour. Crista has this magical way of capturing the light escaping from Heaven above. I'm so happy & grateful she pushed me to walk through this huge field because the sneak peek of photos she got are beyond AMAZING! I literally started crying when I saw them. It was worth it!
Ryan was a total sweetheart lugging all my crap & Magnolia through the field. Then he helped Crista with whatever she needed, like lens changes. I also asked him to snap some behind the scenes photos while Crista was doing her thing. The cell phone photos he took show off the beauty of the evening & I cannot wait to share what Crista got in a few weeks. Until then, here are Ryan's iphone photos. It was a breathtaking night to remember and fortunately you can't tell it felt like a sauna.
