This past weekend was an extra magical one. We spent time poolside soaking up the sunshine & we spent time over at my sister's house helping get things ready for Mylene's 16th birthday bash & we went shopping for the party & we took long golden hour walks after dinner on the deck. It was all the things we love wrapped up in one happy weekend!
I cannot drive by our neighborhood pool without Magnolia screaming POOL from the backseat. With so much excitement she literally asks to go every single day! And on the days we do go she will jump up & down with joy before we walk out the door.
Don't catch this girl in the sun without her shades!
My sister's house is her second home! The girls did a fantastic job helping us make the rainbow balloon arch.
Childhood magic...stopping to make wishes on dandelions at Aunt Hay Hay's house!
This girl knows how to flower shop!
It's hard to believe Mylene, our Lynny-Lou, is going to be 16 years old in a few days! I still remember the hot August day I drove across the state to be with my sister the day she was born. The anticipation of being an aunt & the love I had for this baby girl before she was even born, was as close to being a mother as I had ever known. And for all the years before I became a mom, she was the little girl I adored & spoiled any chance I got. I'm forever grateful to my sister for sharing her daughter with me, especially looking back & not knowing the infertility road that was ahead for me. My sister raised a beautiful, confident, & smart young lady & it was so much fun to celebrate her this past Sunday!
In between all the festivities we had some quiet time at home.
Summer evenings are for long walks at sunset - the golden hour glow is good for the soul! We're cherishing every last drop of this gorgeous summer.
Wishing you all the joy in August & here's to making the most beautiful memories as we enter our last month of summer time!
