Well, here we are only a few days away from 2019. December was a busy month & it felt as though we blinked and it was Christmas morning. It's been nice to slow down this week, enjoy festivities with our family, eat lots of yummy food, & stay home in our jammies all day long! The past few days we have literally stayed in our pajamas all day long. Our tree is still up & twinkling 24/7 & I don't even want to think about taking it down.
For Christmas we transformed our dining room into a brand new playroom for Magnolia. Ryan & I were so excited for her HGTV style room reveal we could barely sleep on Christmas Eve. I cannot wait to do a room tour for you soon. The entire space is magical with a pink kitchen, lace teepee, an arts & crafts table, & all the whimsical pastel colored stuff I could find. The neon rainbow that sits on top of her fridge is probably one of her favorites. She turns it on each morning & off before bed.
This year we found a church that feels like family & we attended candlelight service on Sunday. On Christmas Eve we went out for Jack Stack barbecue, a tradition we started the year I was pregnant with Magnolia. Christmas morning started around five am when Magnolia woke us. Ryan had the camcorder all ready so we could capture her reaction to the playroom. She was so cute & quietly touched everything. We had Valentine on the other side of the gate & she was equally as excited & wanted in the room. Magnolia's #1 concern was getting her doggie in there with her. It was nearly impossible to get Magnolia to leave the room to see all that Santa had left for her under the tree. We stepped away to get our coffee & I quietly peeked in on Magnolia in the playroom. She was standing in the middle of room looking around at it all. As if she was completely shocked! We went to Ryan's parent's house for lunch & then we had dinner at my sister's house. We got home late with full bellies & even fuller hearts.
We tried to snap photos of all the festive fun along the way! At my sister's I put my phone away, got carried away in conversation & forgot to take photos. I'll blame it on the wine, laughter, & our cousin that was in from out of town.
Ryan surprised me with a KitchenAid mixer! Now I have no excuse not to bake Magnolia's birthday cake in a few weeks. I should probably start practicing the icing application now.
2018 was full of ups & downs for our family. I'm never ready for the magic of the Christmas season to be over, but I'm so excited for a fresh new year & for all 2019 may bring.
We hope that you had the happiest Christmas with your loved ones & wishing you all the best in the New Year to come!
