I read the other day that toddlers laugh an average of 400 times a day --- isn't that the cutest thing?
Sunday morning we woke up before the sunrise & to our delight we saw white glitter falling from the black sky. I turned on the string lights that hang above our back deck & we stood at the kitchen door watching the air sparkle. By the time the sun came up the ground was all white. We barely got an inch of snow, but for Magnolia the world looked quite different. And for that reason we decided to celebrate it.
Ryan & I decided that it'd be a good day to go for a Sunday drive. We bundled up & hopped in the car to head south to his parent's land. As soon as we stopped the car & got out, Ryan spotted a bald eagle. He only saw it flying in the air for a moment so he likes to add the disclaimer that he's not 100% positive it was a bald eagle, but he's pretty darn sure it was. I only saw the tip of it's white tail flying over the snow covered grown. Did you know Native Americans consider bald eagles to be sacred? They are the highest flying birds & seen to be nearer to our creator. The bald eagle symbolizes courage, wisdom, and strength and it's purpose is a messenger from our creator.
We snapped a few photos by the water, at the very spot Ryan & I were married. On our wedding day we had several moments that were certainly messages from our Heavenly Father.
We drove around the land & saw a family of deer in the distance. From the warm car we watched them prance through the snow & up a hill. Being out in nature, breathing in the cold air, was the refreshment I needed.
Did you know that the average 40-year-old only laughs four times a day?
This little girl has changed me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. She's straight from the arms of angel & teaching me so much each day. To simply see the white glitter falling from the dark sky like she did - it was so very good for the soul.
On the topic of good for the soul, this story will literally warm your heart.
And remember, small pleasures are a big deal.
