When It Gets Crisp In The Fall

Autumn just happens to be my favorite season, and I'm also one of those pumpkin-spice-everything lovers. I've never decorated much for my favorite season. Ryan actually encouraged me to fill our home with all things fall this year. As Magnolia and I were shopping for our festive decor, I walked by the Christmas products, and it dawned on me. I've always loved fall because of the anticipation that comes with it - the Christmas season is around the corner. Christmas just happens to be my favorite holiday! Looking forward to something is half the joy, I'd say. I'm glad Ryan wanted our home to be full of pumpkins, pinecones, and little reminders of the season of gratitude. Now we get to enjoy all the warmth that fills our home as the air begins to turn crisp. This is the season for chunky sweaters, hot chocolate, fuzzy blankets, and lots of cuddling.

Our front porch is the next area to fill with pumpkins and mums and cornstalks. We plan to take Magnolia to the pumpkin patch, and then, with hot chocolate in one hand and our baby girl in the other, we'll stock up on all the casper white pumpkins and gourds. We'll take a hayride and watch Magnolia's delight as she's surrounded by all the great big orange things!

In a few weeks Ryan and I will celebrate our wedding anniversary and reminisce about the most beautiful October day when we became husband and wife. We stood under huge trees that were turning bright orange and yellow, with the crisp Autumn breeze blowing on our skin, as we knew the best was yet to come.

Bringing in just a few pumpkins, dried seasonal flowers, and pinecones turned our home into a fall festive place. I love hanging garland from the fireplace mantel with each holiday and this pinecone garland is my favorite for fall. Our home feels warm and cozy (although the air conditioner is still cranking)! I put the twinkle lights from our deck on the fireplace mantle and they look so pretty before the sunrises in the morning. The warm glow is the perfect finishing touch. I've been diffusing Young Living's Christmas Spirit because it smells like the cooler season more so than it does Christmas. It's a sweet and spicy blend of cinnamon, orange, and spruce. My sign board and dried flowers are from Hobby Lobby. The sign board will be used throughout the year to add fun quotes and sayings to our home! If you don't follow Letterfolk on Instagram yet, you should, they share the funniest sayings. All the other Autumn Lovers will enjoy this.

Enjoy XO

p.s. Kansas City readers - don't forget this coming weekend is the 86th Annual Plaza Art Fair. I can't wait to take Magnolia to her first one!
