Bubble Baths & Bedtime Routines

Bubble baths are something Magnolia & I equally love, for different reasons! I like to lay back & unwind in the hot water while Magnolia likes to blow bubbles in the water & splish splash until I finally tell her to stop!

As she's grown our bedtime routine has changed & today I'm sharing our favorites things that go along with our nightly rituals.

1. Our bubbles are made from the Shea Moisture Calm & Comfort for Baby & I'm obsessed with the soft sweet scent of Frankincense & Myrrh. I love the smell so much I had to get some of the lotion for me. Their products are paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free. I only wash her hair a few times a week or if it's covered in hummus & avocado. I need to find a good baby conditioner (free of chemicals), if you have one please let me know.

2. I recently ran out of our night time essential oils & I'm so glad to have restocked my favorites of Lavender & Frankincense. We've also added a few new Rocky Mountain Oil blends, the Counting Sheep rollerball & Dreamtime. I put a few drops of Lavender in our bath water before bed. She giggles each time I roll the Counting Sheep on the bottom of her feet. And I start the diffuser with Dreamtime about ten minutes before we get in bed & it continues to run for a few hours after we fall asleep. I'm grateful to finally start getting restful sleep again.

3. Getting this girl to brush her teeth is a challenge. Some nights we can play a game of it & she'll participate & other nights she'll lock jaw on me & there is nothing I can do. I brush my teeth in front of her all the time in hopes that she'll want to imitate me, since she likes to imitate me in everything else I do. We have several varieties of toothbrushes & my favorite is the MAM Massaging Toothbrush.

4. If daddy's home he'll brush her hair before bed & it's the sweetest. Magnolia likes to brush her own hair too! We've been using the same wooden brush since we brought her home from the hospital.

5. I don't use baby lotion on her because her skin is silky soft. Last winter I had a blend of YL Gentle Baby & coconut oil I'd use after her bath, but now that it's summer we skip this step.

6. She's still sleeping in a Halo sleep sack & we're just about ready to move up to the X-Large!

7. I think Gap has great quality pajamas & the most adorable prints. We have a lot of Carter zip-up jammies also. She's almost big enough for the J. Crew jammies & this mermaid set is darling!

Sleep is a common conversation in our house. Magnolia has never been what you'd call a "good sleeper," but keeping to a schedule & doing all we can to get relaxed before bed helps.

Have a great weekend, friends!
