If you asked me what my favorite hobby was I'd probably say taking photographs. You should see my phone! I will admit to being a photo hoarder. My passion to capture memories with the camera started at a very young age. My grandpa always made sure I had a camera. I still remember going with him to the drug store to drop off our film and then we'd wait a week to go back and search for our envelope of developed photos. My grandparents had a chest in the basement full of old photos and nostalgic pieces of history. My favorite days were the ones when they'd let me open that chest and look at all their memories from many many years before.
Nowadays everything is electronic and I'm sad to say it's been years since I actually had photos printed. When I was pregnant with Magnolia I knew that all my electronic memories weren't enough and I wanted to have a Baby Book to fill with pieces of our journey to her and her first year of life. I wanted her to have something tangible to open up one day and find memories of her first days here on earth with us. Magnolia's Baby Book is from Polka Dot Print Shop and I was able to have it personalized with her full name, like this one. I absolutely love how it turned out and all the pages are so beautifully filled with colored designs to help us document important milestones. I started to work on Magnolia's baby book during my third trimester. We filled in pages like Mommy + Daddy, Baby Shower, Family Tree, Before I Was Born. One of my favorite pages is the one with a handwritten letter from Ryan to our daughter. I had to get a Kleenix after reading his heartfelt letter to our unborn daughter. I have filled the pages with her sonogram photos, our baby shower invitations, and a Magnolia flower that we photographed when I first found out I was pregnant.
When I came home from the hospital I started collecting items that I plan to fill the pages with, like her footprints, a Thank You card for her cord blood donation, our hospital bracelets, a paper towel that Ryan used to jot down her birth stats in the delivery room before he called his parents, and I even have her umbilical cord to attach to one of the pages.
I hope Magnolia always knows how very much she is loved and I think this book filled with special memories will be something she will cherish forever.
Thank you to Polka Dot Print Shop for our lovely baby book! Go check out her page to see all of her simple, timeless and modern designs.
Love xo
