I just let Mrs. PB outside to go potty and she literally got blown over by the wind, it's bringing in a warm front though and I'm not complaining. Kansas City gets to look forward to some gorgeous weather for February --- on Thursday it is going to be 71 degrees! It has me excited about spring and summer in our new home and all that we have to look forward.
I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day with the ones you love. We celebrated on Saturday. Ry made us dinner reservations at a place called Magnolia's, they serve modern southern cuisine. The name alone has very special meaning to us and it was a sweet surprise.
I started the lover's day weekend with a relaxing candlelit rose, lavender, and frankincense bath. I used at least five drops of lavender and frankincense essential oil, dried lavender, and rose petals. It was the perfect start to weekend.
On Saturday morning Ryan surprised me with this bracelet.
For the last month Ry has been telling me this Valentine's Day is not going to be a big one - understandably - with #thesmithspinkhouse and #ourjourneytobabysmith #ivf I think he even said "no gifts" at one point, but I already knew better than that. He's always got something sweet up his sleeve. Yesterday morning I was sitting on the sofa half asleep still in my pjs drinking coffee and he hands me a little box wrapped so pretty. I started to open it and realized "he went to Jared" (had to say that because of the commercial) and this beautiful Pandora bracelet was inside. I only casually mentioned that I loved Pandora at Christmas and I completely forgot about it. This was a total surprise and of course he went over the top! The two charms melt my heart, a house, and a Cupid. He loves me in the way all girls wish to be loved. Thank God for him. He's my fairytale come true! Sometimes I wish I could tell my old self, the person I was before him, that I'd find him someday. My life with him feels like Valentine's Day each day of the year, he's my sweetheart!

For an appetizer we had Chicken and Waffles, I had Shrimp and Grits and Ryan had a pork dish. I've been trying to live a strict vegan diet and I must say I've been doing a great job at it, but I had to make an exception for Valentine's dinner. The Chicken and Waffles were our favorite!

Last week was an exciting week for #thesmithpinkhouse. Our new carpet was installed and the much anticipated leopard stairs. I'm very grateful Ry trusted me with this unusual selection. I think they turned out PURRFECT!

The installation guys had extra leopard print carpet and surprised me with this in our coat closet off of the kitchen. I love little surprises like this in the home!
This week we are working on the kitchen. The countertops go in tomorrow. Once they are in we can do the marble subway tile backsplash. I have some cleaning to do this week and I'm hoping we can start to move some of our stuff upstairs, from the basement, and start to make this house a home!
